Our deep relationships with Mutti farmers are built on partnership and collaboration. We work together to choose the best tomato variety for the soil, respect a four-year crop rotation system, and follow integrated production regulations. Our success is inherently linked to the relationships we have with our farmers, employees, and nature. This is based on a partnership built on respect and dedication. In 1850, Giovanni Mutti was a farmer ahead of his time in his use of the sidereal system, which is still used today in organic farming. In 1899, Giovanni's nephews, Marcellino and Callisto Mutti, founded the Fratelli Mutti company as the family's farming tradition began shifting towards manufacturing. In 1909, Ugo Mutti designed a process to produce tomato extract called "conserva nera," a forerunner of modern tomato concentrate.
